GETTING HERE
ARRIVING BY CAR
Harden Picnic Racecourse, 4559 Burley Griffin Way, Cunningar NSW 2587, approx. 2km out of Harden. Upon arrival, event staff, volunteers, and traffic marshals will direct all vehicles to the appropriate parking spaces available. Please note traffic marshals have been directed to fill the back car parks first.
PARKING
The Harden Kite Festival offers FREE PARKING to all patrons. Parking is available on-site at Harden Picnic Racecourse. Please follow all directions given by event staff, volunteers, and traffic marshals.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Limited accessible parking is available on-site at Harden Picnic Racecourse. Upon arrival please show event staff, volunteers, and traffic marshals your parking permit and you will be directed to the reserved accessible parking. There will also be a designated drop-off/pick-up bay for those not wishing to park or for buses/rideshares.
DROP-OFF BAY
There will be a designated drop-off/pick-up bay for those not wishing to park or for buses/rideshares to take advantage. Strictly no parking in these spaces. Time is of the essence in the drop-off bay, please be courteous to others needing the space.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN / PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Harden Kite Festival, at Harden Picnic Racecourse, is a 21 minute walk from Harden Station. Please check timetables and book via TransportNSW.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Do I need to book a ticket to enter?
You don’t need to book, just turn up!
2. Are dogs permitted at the Harden Kite Festival?
While dogs are allowed to enter the festival grounds, we ask that owners to be mindful of their pets’ needs and have them on a leash at all times. Please keep in mind, there will be loud noises, crowds, children and other dogs attending as well.
3. What time do the gates open?
The Harden Kite Festival will run from 10am to 4pm on the festival day.
4. If it rains, does that mean the event is cancelled?
No. The event will go ahead in the rain or shine unless lightning has been detected in the area.
5. Is the event free?
No, $2 gold coin donation per person upon entry. Prices for the All-Day Rides Pass will be announced closer to the event date.
6. Will there be places to sit?
The Harden Kite Festival have seating areas and picnic tables but they are limited. You’re welcome to bring your own camping chairs or picnic blankets. Make sure to wear appropriate attire, a hat and comfortable shoes.
7. Is there parking?
Yes, there is designated parking at the venue. Please follow the directions of those assisting to guide traffic.
8. Is there any food available and/or can we bring our own picnic?
Yes, we have a delicious range of food vendors and yes, you are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy watching the kites fly at the Harden Kite Festival.
We do not have barbecue facilities on site.
