IN THE MEANTIME, DISCOVER OUR REGION

Just over an hour north-west of Canberra and a relaxed 4-hour journey from Sydney along the Hume Highway, the Hilltops Region is a thriving country destination within the Southern Tablelands. Explore our acclaimed cool-climate wines and excellent produce alongside the welcoming towns of Boorowa, Harden-Murrumburrah, Young, Jugiong and their surrounding villages.

HARDEN-MURRUMBURRAH

Explore a rich history shaped by the gold rush era, bushranger legends and the First Australian Light Horse, all wrapped in old-world charm and warm country hospitality.

Founded along Murimboola Creek in the 1840s, Murrumburrah later grew alongside the arrival of the Sydney–Melbourne railway line, with nearby Harden developing into an important rail hub. Together, the twin towns share a fascinating story of rail history, pioneering spirit and country resilience that continues to shape the region today.
